Growth rate: medium Foliage: Glossy dark green, toothed margin, often undulating. Leaves alternate, leathery. Petioles deep rhubarb color.
Flowers: White, fragrant, 8 - 12 mm diameter racemes, 15 to 25 cm long. In late spring / early summer.
Growing conditions: Sun to part shade, drought tolerant, tolerant of a wide range of soils.
Climate zone: 6+ Uses and comments: Dense branching bush with dark purple berries. Nice hedge or individual plant. Deer resistant. Inedible fruit. Native to the Iberian peninsula, Portugal and Spain.
