This is a beautiful deciduous native shrub, with dark green leaves, pairs of yellow flowers, followed by pairs of dark decorative berries. It continues blooming throughout the summer. It can be a spreading roundish bush at 4+ feet, or a quite upright plant, even reaching 10 feet - depending on the location. An edge plant, it can adapt to wet or dry sites. Flowers are good nectar source for native pollinators, birds eat the berries.
