Pinyon Pine, native to the Southwest US and northern Mexico. As a landscape plant it is noted for its drought tolerance and attractive form - an irregular rounded crown. The pine nuts are a traditional Native American food. It is a slow grower, preferring full sun and good drainage, and can live for centuries. Hardy to zone 3.
