This broadleaf evergreen slowly forms a dense mound 3-4’ tall and 4-5’ wide eventually. It has leathery thick rich green leaves. Best in dappled shade, full sun can bleach the leaves out. Skimmia is dioecious - male or female plants. (This batch is male). Early spring large clusters of very fragrant flowers appear. The females get red berries in fall. Prefers moderately fertile, humus rich, moist well drained soil.
