Baccharis pilularis is a survivor. It is able to make itself at home on sandy shores and rocky cliffs. It is a broadleaf evergreen, with a sort of wild overall shape, and also an unusual leaf shape. Good for evergreen screening, and also soil stabilization.

Ceanothus are generally appreciated for their evergreen foliage and also dramatic display of blooms, usually in shades of blue. There are many cloned varieties or selections from species of ceanothus available. This offering is from seed collected in the wild, and will exhibit some genetic variation of color, from pale to darker blue. West Coast native plant.
available at nursery only‘Jenkyn Place’ is an outstanding evergreen shrub. It is hardy to at least 10 degrees F. It begins blooming in May, and will continue blooming until fall. The blooms are white, about 3” across, five petals, each with a strong red spot near the base, contrasting beautifully with the yellow stamens. The foliage is a bit sticky and fragrant. In addition it is very drought tolerant, and can tolerate coastal sites. Avoid exposure to extreme NE icy winds.

A shrub whose glossy dark green foliage looks good all year. It has showy reddish-pink bloom clusters. After initial bloom, continues to bloom a bit throughout the season. It tolerates pruning well, and continues to produce new growth down low.

This is an unusual, showy plant, great as an accent. It forms a group of vertical, arched out main trunks which can get to 20 feet tall. The yellow flowers in summer are 3 - 5” wide. Tends to be an evergreen, with fuzzy lobed leaves sparsely arranged along branches. Fuzz on leaves is skin irritant, plant away from human traffic. West Coast native plant.
